Th ICC Word T/Twenty 2009 competition is to be held in England, with warm up matches starting on the 1st June 2009 going through to the 4th June 2009. The actual competition starts on the 5th June 2009 and runs through until the 21st June 2009.
There are 4 goups of three teams participating.
Venues for this tournament will be, The oval, Trent Bridge and of course Lords, the home of International Cricket.
The competition is split into three sections, the first being the 'group stage' where teams will play against each other from their own group - the second stage will be the 'Super Eight' games which are played by the winners and runners up from each group in stage one.
The 'Super Eight' is made up of two groups of 4 teams each, with each playing one another. The first and second team from each 'Super eight' group, will then go forward to the semi-finals. The semi finals are played on a knock out basis, with the winners going through to play in the finals.
